Well today we get our first real taste of what this summer is going to be like on the east coast of Australia. It is 10.30am at the moment and already it is 33 degrees C. im not sure of the conversion but Im guessing it is in the high 90's F. It's windy, it's hot and the bush close to my house is really looking vulnerable.

Best thing to do today would be to go to a shopping centre and stay cool in the air conditioning. Worst thing about today is that Im feeling like crap and wasnt able to get into work. My best friend today is the toilet bowl. Im over complaining about it. There really is no point.

Welcome summer.

Aww, I'm sorry you don't feel well again.  The medications are wreaking havoc with you, huh?

Autumn came and paid us a visit today.  It was cool and rainy all day, and all my once broken bones let me know they were still there!

Hope you feel better soon...

Hey Dharma.. yeah the meds are being tempramental at the moment. I had to call work and tell them i wasnt coming in. I really hated doing that. This virus makes it hard to keep a job down and have any sort of real life. But I just gotta deal with it as it comes.

I was at the beach the other day and watching the waves roll in and out, and I thought about the tide. The tide comes in and the tide goes out. Hopefully for me soon the tide will come in.

I cant remember when its been this hot in October, you know the kind of sticky humid heat?..

We are finally coming out of summer and entering what is turning out to be a beautiful autumn. Cool nights (perfect for sleeping with the windows open and blanket on) and days in the 70's. Can't complain here. Hope you get feeling better and that it doesn't get too hot too fast.

Hey Blue Dev I love Autumn and I also really love summer. Can't say I like winter too much. The temperature really is getting hot fast out side. Oh to have a/c! Oh well the important thing is to keep drinking heaps of water and trying to stay cool. Would be nice to get to the beach if it wasnt so windy!

I love summer as well, though they are very hot and humid here. I am not a big winter fan, mostly because of all the hours and hours of snow shoveling I had to do growing up. Thankfully, North Carolina winters are very, very mild to us (even their very cold and severe ones!), so I don't mind them too much out here.

oh phoenix, i hear you ! i hear you !. since we moved to the north coast (as you know, near coffs harbour), myself and my deathly pale skin have enjoyed an average of about 6 degrees lower in summer than when we lived in sydney. those sydney summer days are unbearable (and the murder rate apparently increases as well. little wonder, huh ?. i hate being too hot. it makes me feel like flinging a few chairs around myself hehe).

how i recall the joys of taking shelter in the westfields shoppingtown at eastgardens or miranda. not. thousands of screaming consumers and hot, cranky babies. ugh !. images from my nightmares !. i do not envy you, phoenix. i feel almost guilty for enjoying my sea breeze here. it's 2.30pm and about 26 degrees.

and if you get some spare time, let me know !. we happen to have a spare room reserved for just these type of 'lifeache' situations. do you like gardening ?

Well ive been out of the house for a few hours now and in that time i have managed to get into the ocean..the water really is icy but compared to outside it was a joy. So some ocean and sand have helped to lift my spirits a little. It's currently 430pm and still a scorching 38 deg c here that should be over 100 deg F? not sure. Anyhow I went to visit my sister and got her to give me a number 4 haircut all over. I was so sick of my hair and with this heat I couldnt be bothered doing anything else with it. It's never been that short before. Oh well it will grow back if i let it.

Hey Migs... miranda fair...mmmmmm oh what joy! It's like a never ending cycle of mothers with babies and shoppers all crowded into one place all with one mindset.. dont you just crave it??

Thanks for the offer to come up and stay sometime. I just might take you up on it and Mig I love gardening.

Try it where I am you guys.... then I'll let you complain about the heat, lol. Up here in FNQ it was stifling. Fortunately the humidity caused a heavy downpour which cooled things off pretty fast....

Sorry you ain't feeling too well, PB ....and hope that changes as fast as the weather did up here

Incidentally, to get a rough conversion for Celcius to Fahrenheit ....double the temperature (celcius) and add 29. ...Should get you pretty close to the mark.

Its official the temperature today broke the record for sydney being 38.2 deg c today breaking the previous record of 37 for an October day in 1942. Currently it's still really warm at 10pm currently 23c or around 73deg F. Much cooler than today.

I had a really lovely dinner tonight my parents took me out to a harbourfront restaurant which was a really lovely ending to a crazy bizarre day of feeling crap, changing my looks and melting. The heat does funny things to me..

Hey WrecklessEric.. it would be so welcoming for some rain here at the moment. And thanks for your well wishes! Im sure its going to get better soon. Thanks also for the conversion rates. Hope it's nice and cool for you up there!
