To realize The value of ten years: Ask a newly Divorced couple.

To realize The value of four years: Ask a graduate.

To realize The value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize The value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to Meet.

True.

We take so many things for granted, until you realize that when bad things happen, you long for the good, healthy times.

That's why we must enjoy them while we're here. Cherish them. BTW , I am here today because of a nurse who stayed up all night with me near my incubator,
making sure I was OK - I weighed less than 2 lbs , horribly premature. So the part regarding the preemie birth hits home.

I gotta say that I had a bad day on Sept. 11 . Several things went wrong, and then I thought of my dear departed pet , a mini Doxie , and I couldn't stop crying.

Why? It's because of the last look she gave me before she was put to sleep. It was like " Thank you for the love and everything" She was 18 and had a stroke.

I can't forget that look, and I cherish the love she gave to me. This was many years ago, but on that day it hit me again.

Cherish everything and everyone you have - and don't ever, not for one minute take it for granted. That goes double for Parents and family of Gay kids.

a mini Doxie ,

Is that the same as a mini daschund (aka weiner/sausage dog)?  I'm getting one of those.  I went to look at him last week, and paid for him...I just can't bring him home until the 25th, he's too little.

If it is the same, would you mind telling me what her name was?  I've already given mine a first name, but I'd like to give him a middle name - and I'd like it to be something in memory of yours.

That's sweet - why not just name him "boi" for Phoenix?

They are so smart and so loving , but I will tell you a few things that will help you.

Doxies tend to have spinal problems ( discs ) because they are so long. Keep him slim , and teach him several things.

He's going to be a bundle of energy ( she was until she was 16! ) so it will take some training for him.

Don't let him jump on the furniture or bed. Train him to wait, and pick him up , one hand under the breastbone, and one under the stomach. This will help his spine. Same with stairs as much as you can. Then he will live a happier life without pain.

My little mini Doxie developed that problem at about 8 years old , but I trained her, and we used medicine if it flared.

They are the cutest little dogs, and have the most expressive eyes and ears... and they tend to love popcorn! And if you have a waterbed - they can climb between the frame and the wall and unplug it ! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! I miss that little sweetheart - she loved all people and animals !
