Are we all baby boomers?
Published on July 9, 2004 By Phoenixboi In Blogging
In JU there seems to be a wide range of people blogging. People with all sorts of backgrounds and experiences. What Im wondering is what is the age group of the people who blog on here? Am I being rude in asking how old are the people on here? Just to get an idea of the audience..

How old are you??

Im 31 almost 32.

What does it matter? Well Id like to understand the different generations of people blogging and from what ideology they might have been brought up with.

It helps to know age, sex and location(state or country) to understand people's perspective's

I agree Hyper.. and welcome to JU. I havent been here that long either but this JU family seems to really inspire blogging and friendships.

To understand where people are coming from also helps when your reading their blogs and what they have to say to you..although I have found that age doesnt come into it more life experience. There are certainly alot of different experiences shared here in JU that are worth taking a look at to help widen our own perspectives.

I was the first baby born that day in the US (Virginia Beach, VA at 12:01 AM). My dad had gone across the street from the hospital to pick strawberries for my mother

So do you like strawberries? And what an interesting time to be born! Just out of the sixties and into the new generation. Thats really interesting CS.

Dharma were you born in the 70s as well? I think the 70s has brought about alot of people with different ideas.. from my experience alot of the people I know born in the 70s currently are looking at their lives and thinking about where they are at and some feel kinda in a standstill..waiting for something to happen or come about. Do you find that?

I think age is just a number and it's your attitude that makes the difference - My best friend is 21, has 2 kids and still acts like she's 16.
another friend is also 21 and seems to be 17-18, another friend is almost 21 and she has one child and a house and a business and you get the impression she's pushing 30.

Me I have my moments days when I feel 21 days when I feel younger and then there are the days when I'm around my friends and I just feel like I'm 10 years older!!

I will be 26 in August, but I have 3 kids and am a single mom, so I think that adds at least 5 years to my lifespan! Or, maybe subtracts from it?

So do you like strawberries?

Oh yes. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I do like berries (blue and straw being my favs).

I agree. My best friend is 21. I have several friends in their mid-to-late 20s, some in their early 40s, but very few around my age. The one thing that my friends tend to have in common is a solid head on their shoulders, a good sense of humor, and a wide streak of immaturity (when it is appropriate).

Not really. That may be the dreaded mid-life crisis you are observing, but that's not something that is likely to affect me since I have always lived my life towards the greatest happiness. I have no regrets, but really don't look to the future much (some investments for down the road). Generally I live in the now.

Hey Trina yeah I agree with that as well.. One thing though is I think we are all brought up at different times and our parents have taught us different values that may come from that time..also when we grow up we have different things around us to influence the way we think ie I remember balck and white tele and no computers.

Age yeah is just a number. How many lifetimes do we seem to fit in one lifespan?
You might be 21 but how many experiences have you gone through in your life that people who say are 50 havent even gone through.

Nah midlife crisis is still a bit away yet.. thank god! Going through Saturn return was bad enough!

I like your attitude to life CS .. it would be good for it to rub off on a few people in the world!.
